Family Fun

This past weekend we went to Texarkana to visit Henry's brother, Uncle Peanut, and his girlfriend Stephanie & their kids. We had a blast. Aleigha had lots of fun playing among her cousins. On Saturday we took all the kids to a local park to play, grill hot dogs and have a good time. That was until Saturday night Aleigha came down with a bug. She was supposed to start daycare on Monday but we kept her home to be safe and let her start on Tuesday. Little did we know that even though she wasn't throwing up any more she was still sick and ended up getting a few kids in her class sick as well, one of whom is my good friend Lindsey's daughter, Addison. I felt so terrible...I sent my baby to daycare sick. I knew she was still kinda puney & not really eating but she seemed better. That darn virus lasted all week. All is well now & she is feeling much better. Maybe the rain want stop us from going to the park tomorrow.

Happy Mother's Day

We spent the entire weekend at my Granny's (maternal) house about an hour away. We had alot of fun. Saturday night my dad built a fire & we roasted weinne's & made smores. Aleigha missed out on this fun, she didn't nap well on Saturday because there was so much going on and she went to bed kinda early. Sunday morning we went to church with my Granny and then back to her house to eat. This was the first Mother's Day since my Grandma (paternal) passed away so my Dad had some struggles but he got through it. He took my Pop to my Grandma's grave and they spent some time together. I miss her alot but times like this make me wish she was still here even more so Aleigha could of gotten to know her better. It was fun hanging out with family all weekend and I couldn't think of a better way to spend Mother's Day than with Aleigha, my Mom, Granny and even Henry since his mom lives hours away. All in all it was a great Mother's Day weekend!

Too darn cute...

Sleeping Beauty

Maybe I'm a little bias but
tell me she's not the cutest thing
you have ever seen?

My lil monkey

Oh my, she's getting so big!

Do you see the resemblance??

Summertime, Summertime, Sum Sum, Summertime

Aleigha got a swimming pool for her birthday from her Aunt Buddy and we have been using it as a ball pit up until yesterday. I decided to take all the balls out & fill it up with water. The water was still a little cold so me & Henry filled buckets of hot water & added in and wahla...a nice little swimming pool. Summertime is finally getting here!

Catching up

I know I get behind on updating this blog. It is hard to carve out the time to do it. I am hoping to get better at it. I feel like I am falling behind in updating on Aleigha. She loves those touch and feel books, one in particular that has animals in it. She is picking up new words all the time, some new one's lately are cracker, chi chen (chicken), quack quack, ty ty (tyler), hot, and stop to name a few. She isn't into tv that much but likes Barney when were in the car. She loves chicken, spaghetti, cucumbers, grapes, oranges & bananas. She loves loves loves to dance. It is funny, when music comes on the radio or tv she stops what she's doing do break it down. She loves keys, and the car, and the steering wheel in the car. She could sit there for hours. She likes water. I let her play in the sink while I cook in the afternoons and she loves it. I am going to get her a water table this summer for hours of fun :0)

Miss America

Well last weekend Aleigha was in the Gusher Day's Pageant. I wasn't crazy about it because I dont want to pressure her into those things, she can make those choices when she gets older but with a little pressure from family & friends I gave in and entered her. She did quite well for her first pageant. She walked out all by herself without me having to hold her so I was impressed with that alone however she didn't smile not even once. Well then we all had to walk out as a group and everything was going okay until she seen her Daddy & Papaw to the side filming it all. She tried to go towards them & I pulled her back, well that ticked her off so she fell out kicking and pitching a fit, showing her panties to all that were looking. Yes, you heard right the only child to throw a fit was mine and needless to say she got 2nd runner up. I was quite proud of my gorgeous, tantrum throwing, panty showing, no smiling baby girl. I didn't get any pics on my camera and Henry was filming it so I'll have to get them off my moms camera & upload later.
