Please Pray for Alli

Alli is a friend of the family.
She is a 4 year old precious little girl
with Stage 4 neuroblastoma.
It started a few weeks ago with a
bruise on her leg that concerned
her parents and ended up landing her
at St. Judes within days.
If you have it in your heart
please visit Alli's
and pray for her!

Girl's Day & Lots of Shopping

Friday night Aleigha spent the night with
my mom (my dad was at work) but that didn't
mean date night for Henry & I.
His nephew came to spend the weekend with us.
On Saturday the guys worked in the yard all day
so my Mom, Granny & Aleigha picked me up
& we met my aunt & cousin to shop, shop, shop!
Victoria (my cousin) has prom next month
& was trying to find a dress. She found 3!
It was fun watching her try on dresses
and watching Aleigha put on jewelry in the
dress shops. I kept thinking "this will be
Aleigha & I in about 14 or 15 years"!
Talk about Scary.....
I don't even want to think that far
ahead right now. Let's focus on the
2nd birthday for now!
---------------------------------
So after we found her dresses we headed
to a few more stores & then to the mall.
We were waiting on my Granny to finish up
in Dillard's at Aleigha realized she could
get her leg out of the stroller. We thought
it was funny so I grabbed my camera.
It was such a fun day with all of us girls and
Mom & I got lots of cute spring/summer
clothes for Aleigha.
-----------------------------------------
On Sunday my mom cooked spaghetti for lunch
and invited us over. We spent the day being
lazy and watching movies.

Baby Not Feeling So Good

On Sunday Aleigha had a runny nose & her gland
was swollen but she didn't act like she felt bad & wasn't
running fever. Well she couged all night long & had us up
until 4 a.m. so Monday morning I figured I should get her to
the doctor. I was upset because her Valentine's Day party at
daycare was Monday. It was originally supposed to be Friday
but since we live in a state that rarely see's "bad" weather
everything closes at the first sign of snow. I had
already made cookies for the party so we went ahead
and took them up there & in return they went ahead &
gave Aleigha her goodie bag. When we got back home
I let her go through it & she kept making ewwww's
and ahhhh's. It was so cute. She knew she had
received some good stuff :)
Here she is going through her bag
On the way to the doctor I put my sunglasses
on so she wanted hers, so I gave them to her.
When I looked back to see her this is what I saw
Ha! I just love her.
And this is what she does everytime we go
to the doctors office....tears all the paper up
off the table
She kept looking in the mirror saying
"dat leigha"
I thought it was cute because she
normally refers to herself as baby
Come to find out she was getting a sinus infection. After some antibiotics & some prescribed antihistamine
she is feeling much much better.

Valentine's Day

So much can change in a year.
This was Aleigha last Valentine's Day.
She was so tiny & dependent.
And down right cute!

And this was today.
Such a big girl & some what independent.

And still down right cute!

Snowy Day

It doesn't snow here often, actually I think the
last time we seen anything even remotely like
this was close to 10 years ago. On the way to
daycare yesterday morning Aleigha was quite
scared of it. I was trying to get her to touch it
and she was not having it. She ran to the car
trying to get in her carseat. But when she got home
yesterday afternoon all she wanted to do
was play in the "smow".
These pictures were taken yesterday afternoon,
by last night it was a little thicker and this morning
it is so pretty outside.
So my favorite girl and I are done drinking our
coffee & were off to play in the snow.

Oh yeah, it's still snowing also. Not real hard
but it's still snowing {grin} and we are loving it!

It is so rare around here that the schools and
daycares are closed. ha! But I'm not complaining
because that means we can stay home & enjoy the
snow before it starts melting away. It's also a
nice way to start off the weekend.

Friend Makin Monday - Superbowl Edition

Welcome back for another week of...

Wanna join in? Just head on over to {aefilkins}
and link up. Today's topic is Super bowl.
Did you watch the Super bowl?
Absolutely!
If so, who were you rooting for?
Well the Saints of course
Where did you watch it?
At home!
What did you eat?
We ordered pizza, my parents picked it
up and came over for the game but then my
dad got called out to work.
Favorite Super bowl commercial?
Probably the Doritos Play nice commercial
where the guy comes over for a date & the little
boy gets in his face! But I liked the T-pain Budweiser
one as well.
Least favorite?
I would have to say the Boost Mobile Shuffle.
What did you think of the half time show?
Boring...I dont even think we really watched it.
Who do you wish would of been in the half time show?
Anyone besides The Who. Would of like to see
someone more current.
What about you?

Proud to be a Louisianian

Super Bowl XLIV Champions
Dats Us!

Even though Miss Priss was rocking
her Saints gear she was far from into
the game, just her Mardi Gras beads.
But we did have her chanting
Who Dat!
I have always been a Saints fan... even when they
weren't that great, but I've never been as happy to be a
Saints fan as I was last night. It was a good feeling
and a great win for us.

Geaux Saints!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Yesterday was my dad's birthday so we had
my parents & Pop over for dinner &
birthday brownies.
Papaw & Aleigha playing with play doh.

It was so cute, she was 'helping' Papaw open
his presents but kept telling him
"help me Papaw".
(my mom in the background deeply into desperate housewives)
We love spending time with our family.
Henry's brother & his family are hopefully
coming down this weekend for the Mardi Gras
parade Saturday. I don't think they have ever been
so it will be exciting for them.
We went every year growing up & I plan on
making that a tradition with Aleigha as well.
Sunday is a big day for us also. We plan on
watching our boys take down the
COLTS
Count On Losing The Superbowl!
Who Dat!
Geaux Saints!

Birthday Party & Globetrotter Fun

On Sunday we went to a special little girls 2nd birthday party.
We had lots of fun hanging out with friends and the babies
played so well. Addison had a great birthday & her
cake was to die for.

Growing up our parents took us to see the
Harlem Globetrotters. They normally come
here every February and I was excited that
Henry & Aleigha got a chance to see them this year.
Aleigha was kind of interested in the ballgame but
more interested in the people walking around
selling cotton candy & sno cones. I only wish I
had a picture of the look on her face when
she put the cotton candy in her mouth. I'll
just say that was a waste of money so we settled
for some dippin dots. Papaw bought her a
Globetrotter basketball so afterwards we went
down & got some autographs. We also got a really
good picture of her & I with one of the Globetrotters
but it's on Henry's iphone & he still hasn't sent it to me.

Oh how I LOVE her!
